When to refer
All child patients should be assessed orthodontically, by their own family dentist, at 9 years of age.
At this stage, a panoramic radiograph should be taken and any potential problems identified.
If a problem is found, early referral is preferable to late referral.
Nine years of age is the best time for orthodontic referral.
Referral should always be made prior to the loss of the final deciduous teeth.
How to refer
NHS patients are required to be referred by their family Dentist.
Private patients are able to contact us directly to arrange a private consultation.
